V Znamení Slnka – Dogo Argentino kennel

S.A.D.A.K. 2019 – Macumba de la Paco Cassa – Intermediate Class Winner

S.A.D.A.K. Serbia Specialty Show 2019
Judge: Ernesto Crescenti, del Capanga kennel, Argentina

228 dogs in the catalogue – a record that remains unbeaten

MACUMBA DE LA PACO CASSA – 1st place in Intermediate Class, 3rd Best Female of the Show

The unbelievable became reality. V Znamení Slnka had become a reality, too. Lukáš stayed at home with Naroomka and the puppies from our A litter, while Anička nervously travelled to SADAK with her friends and just Macumba. Entries reached a record 228 dogs, a number that has yet to be surpassed in Europe. The message that reached home said it all: Macumba had won Intermediate Class and become the third best female of the show. After a long run of second places, our first victory had arrived. After years of attending without chasing results, we finally achieved our first major result, giving our journey a wonderful boost.

Dogo Fiesta Serbia Mrcajevci, Serbia 2019

Judge: Eduardo Balmaceda, Argentina

One of the many events held during this period. Almost every month, there was an opportunity to attend a specialty show or fiesta, often combined with a working trial.

On this occasion, Narooma managed, for the first and only time, to beat our usually unbeatable show dog Macumba, with Lukáš at the other end of her lead.
There was also an opportunity to test the dogs at work. D´jango already showed his heart here, and this was one of the first events marking the start of his very successful and demanding working career.

Narooma di Casa Nardini – Exc., 2nd place in Intermediate Class

Macumba de la Paco Cassa – Exc., 3rd place in Intermediate Class

D´jango Asesino Silencioso – Exc. in Open Class

Fiesta Doguera Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina 2019

Judge: Elsa Nardini, di Casa Nardini kennel, France

This was another lovely event, combined with a working trial of the kind we no longer see today. D´jango achieved one of his greatest successes at a young age here. Elsa Nardini clearly saw the head of his father Facon in him and rewarded it accordingly. Macumba, as was becoming customary, took second place.

D´jango Asesino Silencioso – Exc. 3, Open Class, Best Head of the Show

Macumba de la Paco Cassa – Exc. 2, Intermediate Class

CACIB Belgrade, Serbia 2019

Judge: Miguel Angel Martinez, FCA President, Argentina

Another familiar second place for our Macumba. At the time, it was customary for the club to nominate judges directly for one or two international shows in Serbia, so it was possible to meet a breed specialist even at an international show. Our duo did not hesitate: we started the car for a whirlwind trip to Belgrade, spent several sleepless hours at the border, and Lukáš ran out of time to study for his final state exams… The whole crazy journey, which continues to this day, began around this time.

Macumba de la Paco Cassa – Exc. 2, rCAC, Intermediate Class

KADM Specialty Show, Slovakia 2018

Judge: Krsto Doncic, Dogo di Cattaro kennel, Montenegro

One of the first specialist events for the Dogo Argentino in Slovakia. At the time, the club also represented the Fila Brasileiro and the English Mastiff, and invited Krsto Doncic from Montenegro, then a breeder at the beginning of his career, to judge.

D’JANGO ASESINO SILENCIOSO – Exc. 4, Intermediate Class, TOP 3 Best Head of the Show

MACUMBA DE LA PACO CASSA – Exc., Junior Class

S.A.D.A.K. 2018 – Macumba and Our First Major Podium

S.A.D.A.K. Serbia Specialty Show 2018

Judge: Mario Pinelli, del Picadero kennel, Italy

MACUMBA de la Paco Cassa – Exc., 2nd place, Junior Class

For us, S.A.D.A.K. and European specialty shows in general have long been, and remain, a showcase for the Dogo Argentino in Europe. The numbers of dogs regularly seen at the Serbian specialty show could not be found anywhere else in Europe. These events were always a chance for us to learn, get to know the community and breeders, and deepen our understanding of the breed. Results were never our top priority.

In 2018, when we entered Junior Class with Macumba at just nine months and a few days old, she was, I think, the second youngest in the ring alongside 20 other females. Mario Pinelli placed great emphasis on movement and gradually eliminated dogs as they moved. It was all the more surprising when, at the end, only two of us were still running.
Macumba de la Paco Cassa took second place at Europe’s largest Dogo Argentino show, under a judge who is a long-standing breeder and a true expert.

What had seemed unimaginable just a few years earlier was now a reality.

We still have wonderful memories of this event.
