Our story began sometime in 2013. Perhaps you’ve already heard it, or perhaps you’re just about to discover it — whether on this website or during a personal meeting.

For us, the Dogo Argentino is more than just a breed. It is our passion and an integral part of our lives. Even though we both have our regular jobs, we cannot imagine life without dogs. Gradually, breeding has become our way of life.

In our breeding program, we place particular emphasis on working potential. We believe that the Dogo still has a firm place as a working dog. We are guided by the motto “form follows function” when selecting breeding couples, choosing puppies, and deciding on breeding individuals.

Health, temperament, and conformation must always serve the functional purpose of the breed.

Despite these strict criteria (which we apply first and foremost to ourselves), we view breeding as a leisure activity that should bring joy —both to us and to those around us. That is why the satisfaction of our puppies’ owners is extremely important to us. From the very beginning, we’ve strived to build a community of people with whom we can share our joy, successes, and everyday experiences. That’s how the V Znamení Slnka Family was formed — a group of people who, over time, have become our friends and our second family.

For us, this is an integral part of V Znamení Slnka. Everyone may perceive it differently, but for us, these people are essential.

We’re not just talking about the owners of our litters in Slovakia, but also about the community throughout Europe and in Argentina. Many breeders — whether we’ve worked with them directly or not — have become our friends. Together, we celebrate our successes and strive to improve our commonly beloved breed.

Last but not least, we have to mention that for many years now, we have both been active in organized dog cynology through our club – Dogo Argentino Slovakia Club. We believe that a healthy and active official club operating within the FCI framework and organizing high-quality events can significantly benefit the breed.
